Highlights from a rollercoaster year of a luxury wedding and party planner
With 2021 being a turbulent year for events to say the least, Henry Bonas luxury party planners have been reflecting on their highlights. Due to the never ending Covid disruptions, bookings were condensed into just a couple months. It was a whirlwind of new parties to celebrate ‘freedom’ and postponed weddings from 2020. Here are our best bits.
1. A Luxury Countryside Wedding
The season kicked off with a stunning wedding for a couple who had postponed for the second time. The day began with the wedding in a beautiful village church decorated with a towering floral archway of soft and natural greens. The reception was held at the bride’s family home where they started with champagne and canapés in the garden, before making their way into the dining marquee over a bespoke bridge made specially for the wedding. Surprise bagpipers got everyone going after dinner followed by a live band. There was more partying to be done on day two of the celebration with a delicious buffet lunch, roaming acoustic band and live DJ.
2. A Showstopper Foliage Ceiling for a Cotswold Wedding
In the gardens and grounds of a stunning Cotswold home, the bride and groom had an outdoor ceremony with nature as the backdrop to their vows. A live Brazilian jazz band set the tone for the drinks reception as guests wandered round the gardens. Guests were wowed as they entered the main marquee with a breathtaking hanging foliage ceiling, elegant tableware, fine linen and colourful florals. A middle eastern style sharing feast was followed by a fabulous grazing dessert table. Freshly made cocktails and DJ saw the dancing continue well into the night before guests returned to their glamping tents on site.
3. Luxury 50th Birthday Party in the London
As bespoke London party planners the Henry Bonas team transformed a private home and garden in London for a glittering birthday celebration. We had delicious canapés and bowl food circulating all night, freshly made cocktails and a spectacular birthday cake. A roaming band followed by DJ made sure guests were well entertained. An archway full of lemons and hydrangeas adorned the entrance to our clients home and twinkling lights with swathes of fabric created a magical atmosphere to mark the occasion.
4. Sophisticated Garden Lunch Party
Neutral tones and wooden textures set the tone for a Daylesford Organic inspired garden party. Chilled rose and a BBQ buffet briming with delicious seasonal dishes plus wood fired pizzas made for the perfect relaxed garden party. Activities included swimming, garden games and traditional fairground stalls as well as an ice cream van and coffee tuk-tuk. As early evening approached firepits were set ablaze and blankets provided for guests to continue their long-awaited catch ups after being separated for so long.
5. Halloween Extravaganza in the Cotswolds
We designed a spooktacular family Halloween party with witches hat tents and plenty of pumpkins. As darkness approached the theming came to life with scary props, spooky noises and dramatic lighting. The evening was jam packed with entertainment with a fortune teller, face painting, Dracula, fire show and finishing with a firework finale.
